Observations from the water
The species entries are written to stay true for years. Field notes are the opposite: what was actually on the sand this month, what arrived early, what has not been seen since the last rains. They are dated, they are one person’s observation, and they are not corrected into hindsight.

The first notes are being written. In the meantime the critter index carries the per-location months and depths for every species, and the destination pages carry what has been recorded at each.
